This is me on my wedding day, proud as punch to be married to the love of my life.
I've been taking photographs professionally for 10 years, and I absolutely love it.
On the days I'm not photographing weddings I run a small digital marketing business that focuses on photography, video, graphic design and social media advertising.
This is our beautiful daughter, Evelyn Mae Hayes, who was born in May 2024 almost exactly one year after we were married. She is the cutest child in the world and I won't hear any arguments to the contrary.
This is Murphy, our furry first child who we got for Aisling's birthday in October 2020. He's a total goof, and a real handful, but we love him all the same. He's 4 years old now and is starting to grow a little grey beard which breaks my heart, but he's happy as can be since we moved into our new home in Craigavon, as he's got lots of green grass to chase tennis balls in just few minute's walk from our house.
My Photography Style
It might be a cliché to say, but our wedding day really was the best day of my life. It was so full of joy and pride and love. To think about it now as I write this makes my heart fit to burst.
When I look back at the photos, all of my favourites were the photos that captured the realness of the people I love. The smiles that are only smiled when you don't think the camera is looking at you. You know those big teethy, ear to ear smiles. Or the tears from fits of laughter, or the ugly crying during the ceremony. The real feelings, and the real expression of those feelings.
That's why most of my time when photographing a wedding is spent looking out for and capturing the realness of the day. To document it. To disappear into the background as best I can, capture the moments that matter the most, and produce a complete and authentic photo story of the day that can be relived time and time again.
In addition to candid photos, I set aside 30 minutes for elegant, high-end portraits of the bride and groom - timeless images you'll cherish forever. I'll also reserve a brief window to capture group photos, ensuring everyone is included in your wedding memories. My approach is relaxed, professional, and provides you with stunning, heartfelt images that truly reflect the happiness of your day.
Importantly, before the wedding we'll have a good chat about what you want from the photography on the day. Maybe there's an important group shot you want to make sure to get, or maybe the schedule of the day is a bit different than usual - we'll get all this figured out weeks before the wedding.
On a last note - some couples are comfortable in front of the camera, but MOST aren't, and it's my job to keep things relaxed, have the craic, and remove any awkwardness from the photo taking experience. That's one of the reasons that I offer a free one hour engagement shoot to every couple who books me to photograph their wedding - it lets us get acquainted with each other, and it gives you the chance to get used to being in front of the camera. This way, when the big day comes you're already familiar with me and the photo taking experience and you can just relax, and be totally present.
